ABOUT THE POSITION
Browns House Assisted Living Facility is seeking a **caring, dependable, compassionate, and responsible Live-In Caregiver** to provide quality care and support to our residents in a residential assisted living setting.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with older adults, demonstrates patience and respect, and understands the importance of maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable, and supportive home environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
* Assist residents with mobility, transfers, positioning, and use of wheelchairs or walkers.
* Assist with meals, feeding, and hydration according to individual care plans.
* Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to dietary requirements.
* Perform medication-related duties as permitted by Florida law, facility policies, and required training.
* Monitor residents and report changes in condition, behavior, appetite, mobility, or overall well-being.
* Maintain accurate resident care documentation and required logs.
* Keep resident rooms and common areas clean, organized, and safe.
* Assist with laundry and light housekeeping related to resident care.
* Provide companionship and meaningful activities.
* Follow individual resident care plans and facility policies.
* Respond appropriately to resident needs and emergencies.
* Maintain resident privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and personal choice.
* Follow infection-control, safety, and emergency procedures.
LIVE-IN EXPECTATIONS
The caregiver must be comfortable residing at the facility and working according to the established schedule.
**This position does not require the caregiver to be on duty 24 hours per day.** Work hours, sleeping arrangements, meal breaks, and off-duty periods will be established according to applicable employment requirements and facility policy.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* **Current CPR and First Aid Certification REQUIRED**
* **Completed 6-Hour Medication Assistance Training/Certification REQUIRED**
* Previous caregiving experience preferred.
* Experience caring for seniors or individuals with disabilities preferred.
* CNA or healthcare experience is a plus.
* Dementia-care experience is a plus.
* Must be dependable, patient, compassionate, and trustworthy.
* Must communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
* Must successfully complete required background screening and employment requirements.
* Must complete Browns House orientation and required facility training.
* Must maintain all required certifications and training.
